Principals

Appointment
The Principal shall be elected by the School Board following nomination by the Superintendent of Schools. Said nomination will be the result of a formal application process developed and implemented by the Superintendent of Schools. This process will insure that a variety of community stakeholders are involved in the search process. The School Board shall have the opportunity to interview candidate(s) considered to be finalists. Successful candidates will meet requirements and qualifications established by the Superintendent, School Board, and state and federal law.

Functions
The building Principals shall act as the chief administrative officer of the assigned school and its grounds. The Principal shall be responsible for, and shall have authority over, the actions of students, professional and non-professional employees, visitors, volunteers, and persons hired to perform special tasks. The Principal shall perform the Powers and Duties of the Principal as prescribed by the New Hampshire State Board of Education regulations.

The Principals shall keep the Superintendent informed of activities in the buildings by whatever means the Superintendent deems appropriate.

The Principals shall attend School Board meetings if requested by the Superintendent.
